If you want to knit a gift set for a little baby, this may be the book you would want to get! There are 15 different hats and 15 matching booties you can make using this book, and considering that you have so many choices for colors to use, the possibilities for the kinds of hats and booties you can make are endless! The hats in the pictures are adorable, as are the babies of course. And for an intermediate knitter like me, the patterns are pretty straightforward.
The book also contains tips and tutorials relevant to knitting these hats and booties. For example - many patterns require the use of circular or double-pointed needles. If you're not used to using those two, the instructions can be quite useful. The abbreviations used in the patterns are defined in the back, and some of the more advanced techniques are explained in depth on the same page as the pattern.
FYO - I thought some of those explanations about advanced techniques to be slightly confusing. I know it's hard for a writer to be clear to all knitters, but I found it also helpful to look up the knitting technique on YouTube and watch a video demonstration of how it's done.
