As a USMC veteran, I've always been fascinated by the Gurkhas. I've also read all (most?) of John Masters' books. Not only his trilogy of his Indian Army and World War II service with the Gurkhas, but also his novels of India.
It wasn't until I saw this book title I knew an American had served as an officer with the Gurkhas in World War II.
It's more a memoir than a history of the fighting, but then I've also read much about the 14th Army under Slim, one of the greatest generals in British service during that war, including his own "Defeat Into Victory." So I was more interested in this author's experiences than a detailed history of the war.
