I enjoyed the historical content of this book. It was interesting to read about the things the people would do to survive. The animal cruelty was pretty shocking. I think our society has come a long way sine 1930. I really liked the ending of the book. It was a feel good ending when parts of the book made me feel sad. I was glad to go away from it happy.
