This book was really similar to McCray's Steele series but with paranormal elements. Her writing style here was more straight forward, unlike her Magic series which I can't stand. It's not as kinky or erotic as her Magic series but easier to read and more enjoyable.

I haven't read the first book yet so it took me a little bit to figure out what was going on. It was a fast-paced, enjoyable, fun book. Olivia can be annoying but with her clever T-shirt sayings she reminds me of the about Nix in Kresley Cole's books.

I really liked the side characters and Nix's "new team." I also thought it was cool that Nix didn't do everything herself. In fact, her team played such an integral role in saving the day.

I look forward to reading more from this series. I know the first book got really bad reviews but I'll find a copy and will have to judge for myself.
