This book contains two mysteries set in New York City. In the first one, a police officer tries to solve a string of murders. Someone is shooting people through the windows of expensive stores on Fifth Avenue. There are many suspects with many possible motives. The story held my attention and kept me guessing.

The second story is about a woman who gets a job at a bar only to stumble across a dead body. Everyone, even her love interest (a cop) discourages her not to get involved, but things look more and more suspicious, and she wonders if there is a conspiracy.

This is a good book for mystery fans. It is not a thriller and the pace is a little slower than a James Patterson or Jeffery Deaver. The first story was very good, the second was well written but a bit convoluted.

Still, if you like mysteries this is a good book.
