This is an excellent book for older children to read, in order to learn about this time in history. I read it, and found it hard to put down.
From the back cover:
Luncia Gamzer was a cheerful 8-year-old girl growing up in 1930's Poland. But then the Nazi's arrived--and Luncia's world was shattered forever.
This book feature's Luncia's gripping story, as well as the stories of eight other Jewish boys and girls whose lives spiraled into danger and fear as the Holocaust overtook Europe. In a time of great horror, these nine children each found a way to make it through the nightmare of war. Their true-life accounts are a powerful testament to courage in the face of hatred.
Their legacy of survival will move you, captivate you, and ultimately, inspire you.
