This book sat on my bookshelf for over a year and I finally picked it up because i saw an ad about the movie. Now I am saying to myself, why did I wait so long to read this book.

Water for Elephants was so visual to me and I constantly dreamed that I was with the characters on the train. I would get up thinking about the animals and what they needed for the day. I dreamed that I was under the big top. I also could not get out of my mind the thoughts that the main character had as an older man. The author did not hold anything back and I loved that this made the character so real to me. This book was definitely a part of me while reading it and I am sure it will stick with me for awhile.

The story goes from the main character being an older man to him thinking about when he was younger and how he got involved with the circus. There is a love story that is so strong and so real.

I would recommend this book to anyone.
