This is the 2nd book in the Half Moon Hollow series. Previous to this book I read Harpers Jane Jameson series and both the first Half Moon Hallow book and the Half Moon Hallow novella (Driving Mr. Dead). Although I enjoy Harper's snark and humor, these books are kind of all the same.

I listened to this on audiobook and Amanda Ronconi is the narrator (she narrates all of these books). She does a decent job narrating, but all of her voices for women characters sound a bit the same. Nola did have a bit of an Irish accent but I felt like she kept slipping back into a voice that sounded a lot like Iris Scanlans at times. It was fine but I just keep having flashbacks to the first Half Moon Hallow book.

In this book our heroine, Nola, comes to Half Moon Hollow from Ireland to track down 4 elemental artifacts. Nola has to retrieve the artifacts before a competing witchy family does, or their magical powers with be bound for the next 200 years.

This book does have a bit more story than some of the other books in the series. There were a lot of twists and turns to the story but they were fairly predictable.

The heroine is much like every other heroine Harper writes about. The main heroine almost always has mommy issues and is always completely indignant that her hot neighbor/client/whatever finds her attractive.

I didnt feel like Nola and her love interest, Jeb, really had great chemistry...they were okay as a couple but nothing spectacular.

I guess I am getting a bit tired of the same old, same old from Harper. I think I do best when I read one of her books a year, that way I don't get sick of reading the same type of story.

Overall this was an okay paranormal romance with some slapstick type of humor throughout. If you are a huge Molly Harper fan, this book is very similar to her previous books so you should enjoy it. I personally am getting sick of reading about the same types of characters and same types of stories over and over. I dont plan on reading anymore of the Half Moon Hollow series.
