Until about the middle of the book I was not especially impressed. I love to cook, but I wasn't interested in hearing what Jeff Jackson had for every meal. Nor am I a fisherman, not even for bluefish.

However, something changed and I found I was hooked (pun intended). While this book is not quite noir, it does have that smell. And it is a nice read. Looking forward to more from this author.
