I feel like this series could have been one large book, but in order to make more money they have divided it into five hardcovers. There are multiple pages at the end devoted to all the different websites/online communities you can join. I thought there was a lot of re-explanation in this (I have read the other 2) but also the beginning of answers to some questions.
Mac is a southern belle forced into a Buffy the Vampire Slayer role by her ability to see the fae, beings from another planet that have lived here for ages. Now the walls between the worlds are threatening to come down bringing lots of terror and bad guys (beings?) to Dublin. Mac finally interacts with someone from the Highlanders series (I give those 5 stars) which delighted me. If you are used to romance novels this may be a little too "gritty" for your tastes. It's an exciting read, but there are also moments when I just think "yuck!"
