True story of a journalist, Jere Van Dyk who worked for CBS News, arrived in Afghanistan in 2007. He knew his way around the region well. He had come to do research for a book. He crosses into Talaban territory and is captured. This is his recounting of his 45 days spent as their prisoner. It is an unforgettable tale of human endurance. A read that was hard to put down, in fact i read this in two days of intense reading. It was time well spent.
