Rita Cosby, a TV host and journalist, writes a touching story of her father's experiences during World War II. She was estranged from her father, her parents having divorced when she was a small girl.
Upon her mother's passing, Rita finds a case filled with mementoes of her father's Polish background and of wartime.
Rita contacts her father and he agrees to begin sharing stories of his past wartime experiences. An untold story begins to unfold for Rita, and she comes to learn much about her father's past. Many interviews later, Rita has put together the pieces of a puzzling past of her father.
Rys Kossobudzki tells of his experiences during his survival of horrific conditions and treatment by Hitler's regime, and as a POW in Germany. This is an excellent account of one man's survival during stark times of war. A great historical read.
