Never Knowing is a fast-paced and suspenseful read. Those who read Still Missing will be prepared for the violence and dark tone of the author's newest work, but readers new to Chevy Stevens should know that this book is not for the faint of heart. I stayed up way too late for a school night to finish this book.
I would have rated this book higher, but didn't because the protagonist is so irritating! She is completely self-absorbed, makes stupid decisions, and causes everyone around her to suffer. It was difficult to muster any sympathy for her; I was almost hoping she'd be the serial killers next victim! (That obviously wasn't going to happen though, because the story is told in first person. Too bad). Never Knowing is a great read if you can stand the narrator.
