It has been said that the firing of Carly Fiorina was a confirmation of women at the highest levels of industry. Not that she had tried and failed, but that she was fired with the same way as a man in her position. True enough, CEO's are required to gamble their company's future on the investments they make and some of the gambles Fiorina made did not pan out as promised. Her description in this book about the unceremonious inner political struggles that eventually led to the end of her career at Hewlett Packard only slightly mars the otherwise remarkable story of her rise from low-level receptionist to the highest office in the company. She is by all accounts a remarkable woman and her tale is well worth noting for all those who aspire to lead today's challenging technical industries.
