This is a well written book that I don't think projects a negative image of the mother as many parents of young children can identify with a frazzled mother.

This might be a good discussion starter. The little boy asks his mother about her big lion voice that she uses with him when she is frustrated. Mom tends to use a different, quieter voice with the new baby.
