Wayne (Adam) is just a sicko, and although he turned himself in, he tried to appear to be a "good" guy, because he confessed? And the blame is because he mom didn't love him, and his wife left him,... no, it's not his fault. Another Serial Killer, with a very unusual preoccupation.
