I am a huge fan of Ms. Austen's Pride and Prejudice and try to get my hands on and read most 'retellings'. That being said, I was very excited when this book came out. You have to remember, this is a modern retelling. The negative press and reviews seem to have forgotten that. In no way is this supposed to be a complete mirror of Ms. Austen's original work, and what a disappointment it would have been if it was. I thought the beginning was slow to get the story moving along. Lots of characters to get to know and place within the 'original' plot. But once the plot got moving I really enjoyed the antics of Liz and her sisters. This is supposed to have taken place in 2013, the drama and plot are formed with that in mind. Give this a chance Austen fans.
