When Lisa Bennett was approached by a lawyer and told she had inherited a historical mansion in Rhode Island, it was just what she needed. She had just went through a messy divorce that left her homeless with only a few dollars to her name. Now at least she will have a roof over her head. But the mansion does need some work. When Sam Ravenal shows up at her door and says he has been sent to help fix the house, she didn't ask any questions. As the days go by and Lisa and Sam grow closer, Sam begins to wish he had told her the real reason he is at her house.

This contemporary romance was first published in 1988. My only complaint was the author using the "big secret" plot. The secret was really not a big deal. If Sam would have told Lisa why he was in the neighborhood when he met her, she probably wouldn't have thought anything of it. But, him lying to her for a month really didn't endear him to Lisa...or me. My rating: 3 Stars.
