This book is what I like to call "paranormal lite". There is a small aspect of it that's paranormal, but the rest is contemporary romance.

Ravine is a lawyer that left her high-paying job with a large legal firm in Philadelphia when she became pregnant by a man she'll never see again. She moves back home to Noxem (her home town) and struggles to support herself and her son with help from her mother and large extended family. The paranormal aspect is introduced when Ravine receives a "diaper genie" from her mother. Lo and behold, it contains an ACTUAL genie. Gene to be specific. The rest of the book is interestingly and humorously dedicated to the romance between Ravine and her genie and her struggles to make a new career for herself in her small town.

This book is told from the first person, which isn't always my favorite thing, but I did enjoy it. Just not keeper.
