The author reminds cooks that Halloween is full of candy and sweets; so the idea is to offer savory (non-sugary) appetizers, etc., (to offset so much sugar in such a short time).

The author suggests STUFFED BELL PEPPER WITH RICE AND BEEF. However, the photo is of raw hamburger meat. What is the point of that? I wanted to see her suggestions for decorating the bell peppers. This same lack of info is all over this book. She suggests HALLOWEEN SAUSAGE ROLLS with googly eyes but doesn't tell the reader how to do that. The photo is of regular sausage rolls.

The author also suggests SPOOKY CAKE POPS but shows a photo of chocolate chips. What I'm saying is that I expected a finished product to be shown, so I could see how to duplicate it. That didn't happen.

The only recipe I thought was worth my time was HULK FINGER COOKIES. It was Halloween-themed although the author did not explain how to get the fingers looking like the samples shown.

I don't like it when an author touts a theme and doesn't give finished examples of that theme (so others can duplicate it).
