This is a great story by Catherine Anderson. The only problem I had with the novel was Laura Cheney's ability to get on a horse and riding for hours after having a baby three days earlier. The dialogue between the main characters was fresh and often funny.
The differences between Laura and Deke, at first, were huge. Laura spoke as if she consulted a dictionary for every sentence; Deke barely spoke English. Laura was from Boston and Deke had grown up amongst the Cheyenne. Their views were very different and yet they found common ground. This is a charming love story told by a great storyteller, Catherine Anderson.
