Definitely not the best book in the series. I had such high hopes for Eva and Lorcan's story from reading the other books. I was sorely disappointed. It was a really slow book up until half-way through.

Eva just didn't do it for me. I have a hard time believing anyone is that forgiving. In fact, she was kind of pathetic and a pushover. Her losing her family home and library was anti-climatic. It didn't seem like she wanted to fight for it so I didn't care about it either. I keep wanting something to happen to light a fire under her butt.

Lorcan was the same throughout the whole book. He was a one-man pity party.

Jessica breath some life into the book but other than that, it was slightly boring. Tamara, the daughter, was cool. I liked the back story of Eva's mother and also Tamara's father.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I think I read in another review that the book fell flat. I think flat is a good description for the story.

The other books from the series are so much better.
