I enjoyed this book very much, even though the writing style is different than the books I usually read, much more introspective. I would say, although there is a murder and a romance in the story, it is much more about a woman coming to grips with her grief after losing her spouse and how she finds her way out of the abyss of depression. This hit home for me, I nearly lost my husband to a heart attack, so I could identify with the main character in a personal way. I found the "tangents" interesting, a way to get inside her head and understand what she was experiencing, in solving the muder and learning to allow herself to love again. I would recommend this book, it could take you out of your usual reading box.
