Sigh. I was really looking forward to reading this, because I enjoyed the first two books in the series so much. But it was just so-so for me. First of all Philomena was something like 13 older than Nico, which wouldn't necessarily bother me - if it wasn't mentioned so many times! I get it, she's older, but there was no need to bring it up so much. So annoying!

The story was ok, but I felt like it didn't have the same magic as the first two. The plot was rather slow, but then it felt like the resolution came so suddenly. And the so-called "mudering beast" was ridiculously unbelievable as far as motivation.

On the bright side, there was Tup, Philomena's spirit guide who was really adorable. Fingers crossed that her next book is better than this one!
