This collection of recipes reflects Chicago's rich diversity and heritage. While there are forty landmark districts within the city limits alone, this book has chosen to focus on ten neighborhoods. Discover the history behind Bridgeport, the neighborhood which housed the Chicago stockyards, or take at trip through the Gold Coast, home to the Junior League of Chicago. Recipes were collected from league members, families and friends, restaurants, and some of Chicago's celebrities. There are over 250 recipes which vary from simple and elegant to extravagant. I liked the fact that this book is easily divided by the following sections that are familiar: [1] Starts & Beverages, [2] Breakfast & Breads [3] Soups [4] Salads [5] Pasta, Grains & Rice [6] Vegetables [7] Meats [8] Poultry [9] Seafood and [10] Desserts.
