I'm still trying to figure out this book. It's different, and firmly out there in woo-woo territory. We start off with FBI agent Kevin Kennedy, checking out the homicide of a couple in the witness protection program. Except he's not Kevin Kennedy, he's Del Farmer. And he's not an FBI agent. And the body he's wearing isn't his original one either. Del's occupying the body of the guy who took his soul, and taught him how to take the souls of other recently dead people. Del shares his Brain Hotel with quite a few other souls, collecting them if he thinks they can help him find and destroy The Association, the mob group that killed Del years ago. Del's pretty sure the murdered man can help him in this, so he collects the soul and then things get really weird. I confess I got a bit lost about three-quarters of the way through this one - there's an awful lot of bodies and souls changing places - but it's inventive and funny, and definitely worth a read.
