This is the first in the Midnight Breed series. I love some of the other vampire series on the market (i.e. Christine Feehan, JR Ward, Laurell K Hamilton, Lynn Viehl) and was nervous that this book would not be as good - BUT I am so glad that I read it. A great start to the series.
As with any start to a series, there is back story, action, betrayal and some great steamy scenes. This is Lucan and Gabrielle's story. You get to know the other warriors a little as well and I can't wait to read their stories. I also can't wait to read more about the war with the rogues and how it all plays out.
I love the author's twist to vampire lore making it her own! I recommend this book and look forward to the rest of the series.
