I love this series so I wanted to enjoy Outsider more. However, I kept thinking that Kate wasn't using her brain when it came to helping an old friend. She definitely isn't the type to keep an Amish family in danger, using snow as an excuse. The Kate from other books would have laced up her snow boots, hopped on the back of Tomasetti's snowmobile, or apparated herself into a different location. In this one, she sat around like a bad houseguest for DAYS, drinking Jack and cooking from the homeowner's food storage while reminiscing with Gina. This one was my least favorite from the series. (I still read it like it was air.)
