In a boring little town by the sea, a little girl wishes someone would move into the house next door. Someone does. Pirates!
The rest of the town isn't as thrilled as the girl. While the pirate boy is going to school and the rest of the crew is fixing the ship, the townspeople are signing a petition and trying to get them to leave.
The pirates do leave, but they also leave treasure behind to make the people think a little better of them. The girl and boy send notes back and forth to each other through letters in bottles.
Why I recommend it: The pictures are vibrant and the pirate behavior and ship are drawn very well. The townspeople are busy saying why they don't want the pirates there, but the girl and boy prove that children are going to play together no matter what.
