This haunted house story ignores the normal formula of this type of story. We are slowly led into the story, characters are introduced and we are lulled by the scene of southern gentility. That this house is evil, there is no question, it seeks out the darkest secrets of it's occupants hearts and rips them out for all to see. An excellent, highly recommended read.
