Dick King Smith, author of Babe, the book about a sheep-pig, brings his special brand of humor and insight to this enchanting book about a little girl who knows exactly what she wants to be when she grows up (a lady farmer) and sets out single mindedly to begin attaining that goal. Sophie is such a popular character she has appeared in several other stories.
