Book jacket descriptions are often overstated, so as to get you to buy the book. In this case, the "beautiful young female doctor with a secret" is just an "attractive female doctor" who plays a small role in the book.

Also, in the case of the "murderous secret organization bent on infiltrating the government," the small, (one man? with hired help) organization is already part of the government.

And "pursued across the Continent" simply means two of the main characters leave Britain for Holland.

Still, this is another excellent tale by Laurie King which grips you and makes you want to stop doing everything else so you can finish the book. At one point, I had to read a page three times over, just to confirm the surprise King handed me.

Be aware this book is Part II of the previous book. "The God of the Hive" 'story' does conclude here, so you can wait a bit before reading the next book in this series.
