The Summer Retreat (Moonlight Harbor, Bk 3)

I enjoyed reading Summer Retreat, the third book in the Moonlight Harbor series, by Sheila Roberts. Several of the current residents and past visitors to the Driftwood Inn make appearances throughout the story. Will Jenna make up her mind between Brody and Seth? Will Aunt Edie ever get rid of the freeloading Sam? And if you're confused about who all the characters are, there's a synopsis about all of them in the back of the book.

This is mainly Celeste's tory. She is dating Emerson, a cop. She hopes he'll soon be her fiancé. But he seems awful busy lately, picking up extra shifts at work. Then one night when they have a date, he calls and tells her he's got a fever, perhaps the flu. So, she makes him some soup and when she goes to deliver it, she finds he's not alone. That explains the extra shifts, the lying cheating cop! Since Jenna's a teacher and she has the summer off, she sublets her apartment, packs her bags and heads to the Driftwood Inn in Moonlight Harbor, because hey, life is good at the beach. The Driftwood is run by her sister Jenna and since the housekeeper just quit, Jenna can use the help and Celeste can have loads of free time to hang on the beach.

In Moonlight Harbor, Celeste meets several eligible bachelors, a cop (ugh), the pastor (yum!) and a hotel guest in room 12 who seems to be planning murder (wait, what?) With her biological clock ticking, she's worried that she may not have many more years to get married and have a family. But can she find Mr. Right? Or will she rush into something with Mr. Right, just not Mr. Right for her? You'll just have to read the story to find out! This is the perfect summer read, so go get it!

In the interest of full disclosure, I am on Ms. Roberts' street team.....but I found her long before she recruited me. I received this book in exchange for my honest review, I <3 her books!
