Summary:
Digit is really good at cracking codes, including hacking. She's been watched by the CIA and Jonas Furnis, a terrorist. When Digit hacks into the Department of Defense's database, she gets into major trouble. Jonas Furnis wants her to help him carry out his master plan, or he will kill her. The DoD and CIA want Digit because she's getting into places that she shouldn't be. Because of this, she is on the run, instead of on the campus of MIT.
My thoughts:
I didn't read the first book. I honestly did really figure this was the second book in a serious until things were referenced back tot he first book. I suppose I should have figured it out, but the "Double Digit" title. This is not the first time that I have done this, and it certainly won't be the last. I did really enjoy this book and will likely go back to read the first book now. Double digit is full of suspense. This is a keep you on the edge of your seat type book. There were twists that I didn't expect, and Digit's sense of humor is just wonderful. Honestly, Monaghan's writing style is just a treat. The titles of the chapters are chuckle worthy and there are definitely times within the novel that will make you laugh out loud (in front of a classroom full of quiet teenagers that now desperately want to read the book). It's extremely difficult to put this book down. The pacing is awesome and it just flies by.
