It's been awhile since I read a novel in this series but I am so glad that I picked this one up. It's good and I understand the grief and trauma Maisie suffered after the death of her husband, James, and her daughter. Finding oneself after losing loved ones is difficult and a journey in itself. That Maisie found her path through serving other is no surprise.

I do not believe that it is uncommon for someone left behind to contemplate suicide to join those he or she has lost. It may be part of working one's way through grief and finding a new path for living. Yes, life does go on but I believe that each experience one has prepares one for the next steps in life.

This story is very well done and I recommend the read highly. There is much to glean from a novel so well written about how another copes with the changes caused by death of a loved one. It's a wonderful story as well.
