DI Thorne is confronted with a series of murders, which many around him are not that eager to solve. All victims were convicted rapists and were released from prison after having served their time. All of them were lured into meeting their killer by the bait of suggestive photographs. Other than that the killer did not leave any evidence behind.

Thorne and his colleagues discover - almost too late - that the key to these murders lies in the cold case past and dusty records.

A good read - great characterizations, and a nice red herring thrown in for good measure.
