Diane Chamberlain weaves such a well layered and compelling storyline in The Silent Sister that even its most predictable plot twists can easily be forgiven.

I found myself emotionally engaged with Riley MacPherson's search for answers after the death of her father. So much so that I was able to overlook my early annoyance at how convenient her naivety seemed to the storyline. But by the end, I felt the characters and situation were developed well enough to pull it off. After all, Riley was pretty young and completely blindsided by the turn of events.

The story left me wanting more. A spin-off featuring Danny MacPherson, whose soul just begged to be healed! Good read. Can't wait to get lost in the next DC novel.
