The second in the series about a family of dragons and their different destinies. It is realistic and unsentimental. Definitely not a romantic view of life on this world with many different life forms. This book follows the life of Wistala, the sister of AuRon. She lives mostly on one side of the inner sea on their world and never finds her brothers after they are separated when their parents are killed. They do meet and interact with a few of the same people although they never know it. This story is a little more "romantic" because Wistala survives many losses but manages to stay true to her goals of "revenge" for the loss of her parents. She manages to become a "family" member of a landed elf and works with a mule and a cat to save his "Mossbell" estate from the machinations of an evil, insane "Lord". I enjoyed this story.
