Knee-slappingly funny in some parts, head-slappingly stupid in others. Most "normal" women do not turn into gelatinous, boring wedding-heads who only talk about cake and matchbooks. Most are working women who squeeze wedding planning into their already busy lives. Yes, they think about it a lot, but aren't half as obsessive as the "heroine" in this book.

Now, with that being said, I have to admit some of the situations posed were remarkably close to home as far as MY wedding planning went. I almost went fetal because some of the conversations were nearly word-for-word (even in their insipidness!) what I had with the caterer, florist, etc. And don't get me started on the groom. Thank goodness my fiance was better at handling meltdowns than he was in the book!

I actually bought a copy of this on my honeymoon in Wales, and read part of it on the plane ride home, but couldn't finish it until this month (nearly 5 years later) because my wedding was still fresh in my head and I didn't want this book to ruin it!

Funny, silly, stupid, light, at-times hilarious, not-going-to-change-the-world-but-still-kinda-worth-reading, chick lit.
