Dave Pelzer is a very eloquent writer, considering the painful subject matter. I cried throughout this book. I still find it hard to believe that this man not only physically survived the abuse, but emotionally survived as well. This book is not for those who can't handle very graphic accounts of child abuse. Pelzer is certainly very frank with his descriptions of the terrible acts his mother committed against him.
