The trick to enjoying Mallery's books is not reading them back to back. If you do that you will realize that most of her characters are the same. A lot of times I feel like Mallery is working through some of her own issues with these books.

You also have to know that when one of the characters messes up, the other one forgives really quickly and then it just ends abruptly. It's pretty consistent with all her books so I'm not really ruining the ending for anyone.

Overall it was a fun book but forgetable. I am finding this more evident as I read more romances. There were some humorous lines and I grew to enjoy Charlie. I didn't think I would when she came up in the other books. There are times she comes off as kind of dumb, like not wanting to use artificial sugar but orders diet drinks. Clay was sweet but really nothing stood out for me about him.

Charlie's self-centered stage mom was definitely a rehashed character from another book but at least here she tried harder to change.

Decent read to pass the time but nothing to dazzle.
