I disliked all of the characters of this book... the plot was incredibly unbelievable. I had no sympathy or empathy for the protagonist. I grew up much the same way that Paige did and I thought that reading this book might give me some insight into what other women feel who become mothers after growing up without one. I just found her to be awful, whiny and unappreciative throughout the entire thing. I finished it within a couple days because I just wanted to get through it and get onto a different book. Every day I choose to appreciate what I have, rather than focus on what I don't. And the ending was a huge disappointment. After 400+ pages, I really needed a resolution, but did not receive one. No more Picoult for me.
