I love this book! There is a very good reason why this is a best seller. I didn't expect to enjoy a book about the circus, but I did.
Maybe it was the historical aspectit is set during the depression as well as the presentwhich Sara Gruen brings to life. Maybe it was the beautiful way she writes. Maybe it was some of the behind-the-scenes secrets of the circus. Or maybe it was the way it went back & forth between the old man in the nursing home and his story of his younger years when he ran away to join the circus. Maybe it was Rosie the elephant who touched my heart. Maybe it was the love story. Maybe it was because it is an excellent book.
Whatever the reason, it has become one of my fav books.
