Fresh From the Hearth
by JoAnna M. Lund
Hardback 1999 from The Berkley Publishing Group
ISBN: 0-399-52527-0

I love to bake and so does my daughter. We love this book of recipes
for Quick Bread, Muffins and Coffeecakes with a healthy JoAnna twist.

As with all the Healthy Exchange cookbooks nutritional values are
included as is an explanation of the healthy exchange plan. JoAnna's recipes
also work great if you're following weight watchers, a low calorie or
low fat diet or even if you or someone you love is a diabetic.

I have quiet a few JoAnna books but we've probably use this one more
often than any of the others. I love trying new recipes but these are
ones we make over and over when we want something quick and a little sweet
but still want to eat healthy. There are some good recipes included
that don't fit into the sweet catagory which are also very good.

Some of our favorites from this book are: Breakfast Banana , Rise and
Shine Apple , Mini Raisin Banana , Strawberry Morning and Blueberry
Morning from the muffin chapter.

From Oh-So-Quick Breads we enjoy Coffee's On! Apple Bread, Blueberry
Paradise Bread, And Grandma Cary's Irish Soda Bread!

The coffee cake section has us making the following coffee cakes -
Velvet Crumb, Cinnamon Orange Trade Winds, and Apple Harvest.

And from the Variety Bread Basket we have made Apple Flat Biscuits,
Gooey Cinnamon Rolls, Biscuit Cinnamon Rolls and Paradise Fruit Rolls.

So if you enjoy baking but want something healthy, easy and quick then
this is a great book to turn to.
