I love this book ! Great "insider" knowledge about rap music. Though I myself am not a listener, I thoroughly enjoyed getting acquainted with this renowned scholar and will definitely be reading more of him in the future.
His observations are on point and have opened me up to the world of rap music. It is so much more than it is portrayed to be by conservative media outlets, who wish to destroy its influence among young people today. Rather than destroy its influence, Dyson suggests, lets study it and understand it.
Fun and engaging read.
