As a young buffalope, Max lived with his father, mother, and pack. When a plague hit their pack, however, his family set out on their own. Unfortunately, they didn't get far before the cruel Navarians killed his father and captured Max and his mother.

After being sold to a cruel master, he managed to escape, but soon met Alexander Darke, a kind human who wants to be a jester. As Max begins to be fluent in human, he realizes that Alexander could really use his help at improving his act.

Will Max figure out a way to find his own happiness while helping Alexander?

A cute, quick companion to the Sebastian Darke series of books. The characters are well-painted, and the unique perspective is well-crafted. Those who have liked the Sebastian Darke series, adventure, and fantasy stories will enjoy A BUFFALOPE'S TALE. This book, though, will make more sense for those who have read the other Sebastian Darke books.
