When Demon-slayer Tayla Mancuso is badly injured during a battle, she ends up at Underworld General Hospital, run by the demons she has vowed to destroy. She believes they will torture and kill her. She doesn't expect to attracted to her doctor, Eidolon. Eidolon is a Seminus demon who is nearing his transition into a full incubus. He has been using his skills as a doctor to keep his lust under control. But he doesn't expect his passionate reaction to Tayla, a woman he considers the enemy.
This is the first book in the Demonica series. The beginning of the story suffers from information overload about the world-building and demon terminology. But after 50 pages and a sex scene that felt a bit out of place to me, the story picked up and I was thoroughly drawn into it. This book has everything: action, humor, espionage and romance. Eidolon is a great hero but Tayla took a little while to grow on me. The supporting characters in the book are interesting. I love the relationship between Eidolon and his brothers, and I'm looking forward to their books. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
