Nick Farmer is an aging wall street trader who is debating leaving his job but is having a hard time leaving his high salary behind. He hates his job (except for the salary), his marriage is falling apart, and the subprime mortgage crisis (which we see a glimpse of in the book which takes place in 2007) is about to explode. This is essentially the story of one man trying to save himself. The beginning of the book was the written version of the movie The Wolf on Wall Street - lots of overinflated egos, hookers and cocaine. It got tiring reading it all but the book got better when the story picked up and the characters developed.
