After recovering from a serious injury, FBI Special Agent Macy Crow works to get a promotion to the profiler team. She decides to prove herself by volunteering to investigate the murder of Tobi Turner, a girl who disappeared nearly fifteen years ago. Macy must team up with her former colleague and one-time lover Mike Nevada who has recently been elected sheriff. DNA found on Tobi's recently discovered body ties her killer to a series of rapes that happened close to the time of her disappearance. Did the rapist get carried away and accidentally kill Tobi? When a local girl goes missing, Macy and Nevada believe the killer may be starting up again.

This is the third book in Mary Burton's Criminal Profiler case. The suspense portion of the book was well written. There were a handful of suspects to work through. I had an idea who was behind the murder, but I was wrong. The romance portion of the book was weak. I never felt any chemistry between Macy and Nevada. It felt like an after-thought in the story. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
