I really liked this book. From the back (paraphrased): Gabriel's valor during battle earns him the reputation as a hero, but costs him his sight and the fiancee he adored. He was one of London's elite but now he's secluded himself in his family's mansion cursing his way through days and darker nights. Prim nurse Samantha arrives to find her new charge acting more like a beast than a man but she's determined to do her duty and engages him in a battle of wit and wills. After some time together they both discover that some secrets and some pleasures are best explored in the dark...
